A brief history of Biggleswade FC.
Biggleswade FC was formed in May 2016 from the very successful Biggleswade Town Under 18s side that swept all before them in the Thurlow Nunn Youth League.
It was such unprecedented success that led to the Club applying to enter the Spartan South Midlands Football League Division One at Step 6 of the Non-League System. After two meetings and a successful appeal with The FA at Wembley, on 7th June 2016, Biggleswade FC were awarded their place ...at Step 6.
That decision would prove fully vindicated as this new third senior football in Biggleswade romped to the SSML Division One title with 99 points and scoring 170 goals in all competitions in the process. Since that first season, the club have enjoyed a meteoric rise.
FC followed up a creditable 5th place finish in the SSML Premier Division in 2017/18, by winning the league and cup double the following season. They also lifted the prestigious North Beds Charity Cup to complete a memorable treble.
The club joined the Southern League Division One Central for the 2019/20 season and they found the going tough early on as they struggled with injuries. However, an incredible run after Christmas saw FC on the fringes of the play-offs before the campaign was null and voided due to COVID.
Dave Northfield and Mark Inskip's men endured a similar start to the 2020/21 season as again they had to contend with a long list of injuries to key personnel. They will be hoping for better fortunes going into the coming campaign.
